宇宙学模拟中星系的化学演化和标度关系

Chemical evolution and scaling relations of galaxies in cosmological simulations

Numerical simulations have become a significant tool for comprehending the formation and evolution of galaxies. Most cosmological models of galaxy formation now include a treatment of chemical evolution. As stars evolve through their life cycles and culminate in supernovae, they produce and distribute heavy elements throughout the interstellar medium that surrounds galaxies. In this review, I will firstly provide a concise introduction to how various cosmological simulations trace metals and treat chemical evolution. This review focuses on examining the scaling relations and chemical distribution of galaxies in various simulations, while also drawing comparisons with observational data, such as stellar mass-metallicity relation, fundamental metallicity relation, spatially resolved metallicity gradient, metal fraction distribution, and their cosmological evolution. Furthermore, I will delve into the valuable insights derived from these simulations and outline prospects for future sky surveys by the CSST.
