During the past two years, we all have witnessed the thrilling moments of discovering gravitational waves. The recent discovery of the very first electro-magnetic counterpart once again generated great excitement all over the world. The amount of sciences related to gravitational waves exploded, and it may seem even more challenging to keep pace with this fast-moving field. Runqiu Liu, Rainer Spurzem, and Xian Chen are inaugurating a series of seminars to cover a broad range of the sciences of gravitational waves. We will invite mathematicians, physicists, astronomers, relativists, and computer scientists working both in China and abroad on gravitational waves to deliver comprehensive and update-to-date reviews of a variety of topics. We plan to have, on average, two seminars per month, thanks to the support from the Morning Center of Mathematics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Kavli Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics at Peking University, and the Silk Road Project of the National Astronomical Observatories of China. Each seminar consists of one hour of invited keynote talk and a second hour of free discussion.
