Research Interests:

observations of supermassive black holes and their coevolution with galaxies

Dr. Shangguan’s research interests mainly reside in observations of supermassive black holes and their coevolution with galaxies. He uses multiwavelength observations to measure the black hole accretion and host galaxy physical properties. He is also an expert on optical/infrared interferometry observations, with the main focus on the inner structures of the active galactic nuclei. He is interested in measuring the fundamental properties of black holes and galaxies with advanced observational and physical modeling techniques.
