Prof. Feng Yuan obtained his PHD in USTC in 1997. He then worked in Nanjing University, Max-Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy, Harvard University and Purdue University as a postdoc. He was recruited to Shanghai Astronomical Observatory (SHAO) in 2005. Since 2010 he serves as the director of the astrophysics division of SHAO. His main research interests include black hole accretion, AGNs, black hole X-ray binaries, and AGN feedback. He has published over 90 papers, including one review article published in ARA&A in 2014. These papers now have over 3000 citations.
