Gravitational Universe with the TianQin observatory



Abstract: The proposed TianQin mission is a space-borne gravitational wave observatory, which is planned to harvest gravitational wave science in the milli-Hertz range. In this talk, I'll give a brief overview of the scientific prospect of the TianQin observatory, specifically on the astronomical implication of TianQin.

Biography: 
Yi-Ming Hu received the B.S. degree in Astronomy at Nanjing University and the Ph.D. degree in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Glasgow, UK. His postdoctoral experience includes working at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute) and the Research Institute of Information Technology at Tsinghua University. Currently as an Associate Professor in the School of Physics and Astronomy at Sun Yat-sen University, he is studying all possible gravitational wave sources for space-based GW missions, ranging from stellar-mass compact binaries to stochastic gravitational wave backgrounds.
