ABSTRACT
In the standard ΛCDM paradigm, galaxies form and evolve in the potential wells of dark matter halos. Understanding the evolution of galaxies in dark matter halos (groups) and the related physics is one of the greatest challenges of modern cosmogony. In this talk, I will present my recent work based on the weak lensing method. We study the scaling relations between halo mass(Mh) and various halo mass proxies for SDSS central galaxies, and we find a complex dependence of these relations on galaxy and group properties, indicating different evolutionary processes. I will also introduce a method for constructing new halo mass proxies and evaluating their performance. In addition, I will present the Mh-supermassive black hole(SMBH) mass relation we obtained and discuss the indications for rapid and linear growth phases for SMBH.
