This meeting is in celebration of the scientific career of Jeremy Mould on the occasion of his 70th birthday. The meeting recognizes his seminal contributions to the subjects of stellar populations and the cosmic distance scale. In the era of GAIA, JWST, and ELTs, both subjects stand to experience dramatic advances enabled by these new facilities. The aim of this meeting will be to consider the current status of stellar populations and the distance scale, and to look forward in planning how to exploit the opportunities these facilities offer.
