Su Yao (姚苏)
Former PKU postdoc Su Yao (姚苏) was recently awarded a prestigious Humboldt Research Fellowship for Postdoctoral Researchers after the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation’s selection committee meeting at the end of 2019. Yao's research mainly focuses on the accretion and jet formation around supermassive black holes in center of galaxies, especially the narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies.
Yao worked as postdoc at KIAA at Peking University from 2016-2019 with advisor Prof. Xue-Bing Wu. Su received his PhD in astrophysics from National Astronomical Observatories of China in 2016. As a Humboldt fellow, Su will continue his search on the narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies and investigate the jet formation on highly accreting supermassive black holes, the feedback of active galactic nuclei to the galaxy evolution. He will also work on the LAMOST QSO survey.

The Humboldt Research Fellowship Program supports highly qualified post-doctoral scholars of all nationalities and disciplines so that they may carry out long-term research projects in Germany.
