Doctor Nancy Sung, Director of China office of National Science Foundation(NSF),United States visited KIAA on August 19, 2016, and discussed with Luis Ho, Director of KIAA, Xuebing Wu, Associate Director of KIAA and Suijian Xue, Associate Director of National Astronomical Observatories of China, about the possible collaboration with Chinese Astrophysics Community on one of the Ten Big Ideas for Future NSF Investment and Windows on the Universe: The Era of Multi-messenger Astrophysics. In addition to the traditional electromagnetic wave telescope, neutrinos, cosmic rays and even gravitational waves will become special windows to probe the Universe.
