KIAA will host a workshop on Quarks and Compact Stars, October 22-24, 2014. This workshop will focus on understanding the nature of the strong interaction at low energy scales. Compact stars are exellent astro-laboratories for studying the non-perturbative behaviors of the strong interaction. This is a bilateral meeting to strengthen research and foster collaborations between China and Japan. It is being jointly organized by Toshiki Maruyama (JAEA), Toshitaka Tatsumi (Kyoto), and Renxin Xu (PKU/KIAA). For more information, see the QCS2014 web site.
