Si-Yue Yu (余思悦)
Former PKU Ph.D. student Si-Yue Yu (余思悦) has been awarded a prestigious Humboldt Research Fellowship for Postdoctoral Researchers after the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation's selection committee meeting in 2021. Yu’s research mainly focuses on spiral structures in disk galaxies, with some interest in protoplanetary disks.
Si-Yue received his Ph.D. in astrophysics from Peking University in 2020 with advisor Prof. Luis C. Ho. As a Humboldt Fellow, Si-Yue will investigate the impact of spiral structures on galaxy secular evolution and probe the nature of spiral structures using cosmological hydrodynamical simulations. He will be hosted by the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy (MPIfR) in Bonn.
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is a foundation established by the Federal Republic of Germany's government to promote academic cooperation between excellent scientists and scholars from abroad and from Germany. The Humboldt Research Fellowship Program supports highly qualified post-doctoral scholars of all nationalities and disciplines to carry out long-term research projects in Germany.
