On September 15, the winners of the 2022 "XPLORER PRIZE" are announced. Kejia Lee, an Associate Professor at Department of Astronomy and Kavli Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics at Peking University is listed among the 50 awardees this year.

According to its official website, the initial funding for the XPLORER PRIZE is provided by Tencent Foundation, and it is a non-governmental and public interest award for young scientists and technicians aged 45 and under who are working full-time in the Chinese mainland，Hong Kong or Macao. The XPLORER PRIZE focuses on fundamental science and research. It is a no-strings-attached award for extraordinarily talented young scientists, as an investment in their potential at the forefront of scientific discovery. The XPLORER PRIZE awards a grant of three million RMB per recipient.
Kejia Lee:
Before joining KIAA in Fall 2013, Kejia Lee spent 4 years as a postdoctoral member at the Max-Planck-Institut für Radioastronomie, Bonn Germany. He received his Ph.D. and B.Sc. in astronomy from Peking University. The XPLORER PRIZE is awarded for his original contributions to the fields of pulsar and fast radio burst, particularly for the gravitational wave research with high precision pulsar timing, and discoveries of new phenomena in fast radio bursts.
