My main research interests are Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN), supermassive black holes (SMBHs) and the coevolution of galaxies and their black holes. Important information can be gained from the demographics of AGN and SMBHs, obtained from large surveys. I am particulary interested in the statistical distribution functions of AGN: the AGN luminosity function, the active black hole mass function and the accretion rate distribution function. These provide essential constraints on the growth history of SMBHs. I am also a member of the HETDEX {can you link to: http://hetdex.org/} collaboration, with a main focus on AGN.
